American Cleaning Services or Oskaloosa - The Ultimate Experience!
Our Mission: To provide you with the most outstanding service experience EVER!

Trauma Scene Cleanup

The unexpected can happen any time. It could be a homicide, suicide, decomposition, accidental or unattended death. We work in all types of property: single and multi-family housing, hotels, mobile homes, commercial properties and vehicles.

American Cleaning Services is a locally owned and operated cleaning and decontamination company based out of Oskaloosa, IA. We saw the need to become certified and offer Crime and Trauma Scene Decontamination to our clients due to the lack of Certified companies performing these clean-ups. We understand the need for professional and considerate services in traumatic circumstances. It is our job to help Iowa families return their homes and properties back to the safe place they once were.

At American Cleaning Services we pride ourselves on our knowledge, reputation, integrity and compassion. When you call American Cleaning Services you will never get an automated phone system, you will talk with the owner of the business every time.

Below are some frequently asked questions:

Why should I call American Cleaning Services instead of cleaning it myself?
American Cleaning Services technicians are trained and experienced in handling biohazardous material and the proper techniques in the decontaminations, removal, transportation and disposal of blood & bodily fluids. Improper handling of biohazardous waste can lead to serious health risks.

What is biohazard?
A biohazard is blood and other potentially infections materials (OPIM).

Can I have one of my employees clean the scene?
No. Federal Regulations state that no employee can be placed in a position to be exposed to blood spills without the following:
Penalties for violation of these regulations can be severe. Additionally, an employee may file a workers’ compensation claim and / or lawsuit.

What condition will property be in when you’re done cleaning?
The property will be clean, disinfected, deodorized, and safe for habitation. All infected subfloors will have been removed and replaced. Floor covering will be left to the property owner to replace.

I don’t want to draw attention to the scene. Do you work discreetly?
We are very sensitive to the emotional needs and privacy of our clients. We work in as professional and discreet a manner as possible.

How do I pay for this?
In most cases our services are covered under homeowners, business, or auto insurance.

How long does the cleaning take?
It varies greatly depending on the location, circumstances, and services being performed. Most of our jobs take somewhere between two hours and five days.

Why choose American Cleaning Services?
American Cleaning Services relieves owners, managers, co-workers, family members and friends from the emotional trauma and physical hazards of cleaning a crime or trauma scene. We are fully trained and equipped for handling biohazardous waste and decontamination, so you can feel confident the scene will be clean and safe when we’re finished.

What is Trauma Scene Cleanup?
Following a natural death, homicide, suicide or medical emergency, biohazards are left behind. We will remove these biohazards from the scene, safely and discreetly, sealing, labeling, and disposing of them at the appropriate medical waste disposal facility. The affected area is then cleaned, disinfected, deodorized and restored to a safe condition.
